It’s a fact that most future Artifact players are not familiar with Dota 2, and that’s why we decided that it would a be a great idea to tell new player about fascinating lore of Dota 2.
Last time we told the story of Luna, a devoted follower of Selemene, Goddess of the Moon. This time it is even more interesting, you are going to hear the story of Zeus, the Lord of Heaven.
If you studied Greek Mythology well, you should be aware of the fact that Zeus is the father of gods and people, the sky and thunder god, who rules the whole world. Well, all of this is true for Dota 2 version of Zeus too, he is still the almighty god but there is a fact that we should definitely mention: he lost his immortality because of his reckless love for mortal women.
Zeus was caught unnumbered times in the midst of trysts with countless mortal women, his divine wife couldn’t bear it anymore and finally gave him an ultimatum: "If you love mortals so much, go and become one. If you can prove yourself faithful, then return to me as my immortal husband. Otherwise, go and die among your creatures."

Zeus found her logic (and her magic) irrefutable, and having no other option he agreed to her plan. He has been on his best behavior ever since, but to prove himself worthy of his eternal spouse, he must continue to pursue victory on the field of battle.
Although Zeus treats other heroes like some desperate kids (he is a god after all!), he always seizes an opportunity to make fun of them on the battlefield.
It might be interesting that Zeus in Dota 2 lore also has brothers, just like his Greek prototype. We don’t know their names, but judging by in-game dialogues, they are allegedly dead and know Medusa — she sends her regards to them after killing Zeus.
